VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND EVENTS IN MARKHAM:
Nothing ushers in the summer season like the May 2-4 weekend. You can hear the collective sound of BBQs and bikes being broken out from their winter hibernations and cars being packed up to open up the cottage. For those of us who are looking for some family fun closer to home, here are some great events in and around Markham for the Victoria Day Weekend:
INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY
Culture vultures, here is a day (or two) for you!
The Markham Museum and Whitchurch Stouffville Museum will open their doors this weekend for International Museum Day with free admission.
Celebrate IMD one day early on Saturday May 17th with FREE admission all-day to the Whitchurch Stouffville Museum.
Then on Sunday May 18th head to the Markham Museum to explore the Farm to Table exhibition, pollinator crafts and even help plant this year’s garden!
SCRATCH DAY AT ANGUS GLEN LIBRARY
Markham is a tech-savvy community and if you are a family who codes together or have got a coder on your hands you won’t want to miss this fun event on Saturday May 17 at the Angus Glen Library (3300 Major MacKenzie Drive)
Markham public library and KidsGreatMinds have a fun & educational want to celebrate the popular computer-coding language and all the kids who use it. Register to check out Scratch software and see first-hand the 3D printer demo at 11:30 AM. All children are welcome.
VICTORIA DAY ON MAIN
Shops and restaurants on Main Street in historic Unionville open their doors May 19th for the long weekend. Its always a great time on Main with the family. So much to see and do and eat! Don’t forgot to pop in to the Old Firehall Confectionary and learn about the wonders of Maple Syrup (like we need more reason to love it!) Take a stroll through Main; pick up some provisions and (weather permitting) picnic in Too Good Pond Park.
Whatever you do – hope you enjoy the long weekend!
